One of the top services requested by companies to marketing firms is SEO. Unfortunately, most people don't know what SEO is, they just know they should have it. SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization" or simply put, how will some one find your company when they search Google.
Companies pay lots of money to be ranked #1 or at least be on the first page for a Google search. But before you pull out your wallet, these are the mistakes you must avoid in order for your SEO campaign to be successful:
Failing to Edit Your Website Copy - Before investing in PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns, review your website copy to make sure it includes your keywords, location, and company name.

Buying your Company Name - Companies are often fooled into buying their own name in PPC Campaigns. This gives a false sense of optimism since its easy for an SEO "specialist" to show results with lots of clicks. They'll even brag about a low cost per click. But let's think about this logically. If a consumer already knows your Company name, then why should you pay for the result when they enter it into Google?
Ignoring Social Media - When companies contact me about SEO, they are often surprised when I ask them about their social media. They'll reply, I don't need social media, I just need SEO. Have you ever Googled yourself? Your company website is usually #1 followed by your social media accounts. The reason being is that Google considers the social media platforms an authority when it comes to rankings.
