Why Do I Need a Full Service Marketing Firm?

The comments we get most often when I tell people that Imagine Marketing is a full service marketing firm is first, what does that mean? Followed by:
I placed an Ad in (insert publication) or "I tried" (insert service) and it didn't work;
I get most of my business from "word of mouth".
Let's address these two objections separately:
"I placed an Ad and it didn't work". Ok, that's advertising, not marketing. When businesses tell me their "horror stories" of advertising they tried. The first thought that comes to mind is all the workouts that "I tried" and they didn't work. Was it the gym's fault or the fact that I didn't get my ass off the coach? Marketing needs to be a long term campaign that includes different forms of advertising. Most likely, your advertising didn't work because you only "tried it". Placing one Ad in a magazine will not work because it assumes the following:
Everyone in your target market is reading that publication;
They all turned to page 57 to view your Ad;
Your Ad is so impressive, your prospects will remember it.
That's a lot of pressure for one Ad! However, marketing means that you are developing a campaign. Perhaps try placing Ads over a 6 month period, sharing the Ad or magazine article on social media, placing those publications in your lobby and at events you attend, all while including QR Codes so you can drive traffic to your website.
"I get most of my business from word of mouth". Perhaps one of the most arrogant statements a business owner can make. You might as well say "I'm so special, my customers are always thinking about me". The truth is even the "word of mouth" businesses are marketing. They just don't know it or don't want to admit it. Perhaps, they are spending their dollars going to networking groups or tradeshows, purchasing business cards and name tags, and going out to dinner with potential clients.
Many studies have concluded that it takes an average of 8 touchpoints to make a sale. So why do people insist on choosing one form of advertising over another? A good full service marketing firm will evaluate all your marketing activities and help you develop a campaign to increase sales. Unlike advertising sales, a full service marketing firm isn't married to one form of promotion. At Imagine Marketing, we like to encourage our clients to use multiple forms of advertising. This allows prospects to "see you everywhere", get multiple touchpoints, and increase the likelihood of closing the deal.
